NASA to Pay $750,000
in Competition to Turn
CO2 Into Energy With more and more trips to Mars being
planned, NASA is seeking an efficient way to
keep things powered for the prolonged missions — and they need your help, to
the tune of $750,000. NASA recently announced the
CO2 Conversion Challenge, which calls
for the brightest of our society to figure
out a way to turn CO2 into energy molecules. NASA Teams or individuals need to register by January 24, 2019, and officially apply by February 28, 2019. After plans are reviewed, $250,000 will be
awarded to up to five individuals or teams and
then move into the next phase of the competition. Once phase 1 is complete, NASA will reveal the rules and criteria to proceed. $750,000 will be awarded to the individual, team or teams that can demonstrate
a working system to be implemented on Mars.
