24 hours after a FIR was filed against Robert Vadra in his land dealings in Gurugram, a huge political war is raging. Vadra came out yesterday to claim that there was nothing new in the charges brought on him and the entire move was the BJP led NDA's attempt to divert the country from real issues like jobs and inflation. Former Congress Haryana CM Hooda has again described the FIR against him as a vendetta. Haryana Chief Minister Khattar meanwhile says the law is taking its course. The charges against Robert Vadra relate to the purchase of a 3.5 acre plot by one of his firms, skylight hospitality, for 7.5 crore in 2008. The same land was sold a few months later for 58 crores. It's alleged that the Hooda govt changed the land use of the land to aid and abet in the profit. The entire episode had come to light after bureaucrat Ashok Khemka had claimed illegalities in 2012, before he was mysteriously transferred. The Dhingra commission set up by the Khattar government filed its report in 2016. Justice Dhingra had then said that irregularities had been found, that's why his report was 182 pages long.
