Disney Park Employees Win $15 Minimum Wage Disney World and Disneyland employees have won their right to a $15 minimum wage after a lengthy labor battle. The deal also gives workers an extra 50 cents an hour, or 3%, for hours worked since September 2017. The nearly 10,000 workers unionized and campaigned after coming to the consensus that many of them could not afford basic living necessities on their meager salaries. Some workers reported living in cheap motels or recycling bottles and cans to make ends meet. Almost 75% of the unionized workers voted in favor of the deal that would raise the minimum hourly rate from $11 to $13.25 immediately, and to $15 by January.
