One of Papua New Guinea’s most active volcanoes erupted on Saturday, August 25, spewing ash and smoke into the sky.
The eruption on Manam island prompted the evacuation of thousands of people as lava flows threatened at least three villages, Papua New Guinea National Disaster Centre told Reuters.
