GOP Congressman and His Wife Indicted for Improper Use of Campaign Funds Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret have been accused of using campaign funds to pay personal bills. An indictment says the California politician used the funds for everything from luxury vacations to kids' school lunches and family dentistry bills. It also says Hunter illegally obtained a campaign credit card for his wife at a time when she had no formal role. The Hunters were reportedly in dire financial straits and could not have supported their lifestyle without use of those campaign funds. Hunter and his wife are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in federal court in San Diego.
