Landslides triggered as powerful aftershocks hit Lombok

Strong earthquakes jolted the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday, causing further damage as the tourist hotspot struggles to recover from the 7.0-magnitude quake that killed hundreds of people.

The aftershocks, measuring magnitude 5.4 and 6.5, occurred at around 10 am and 11 am local time. The impact triggered a landslide, causing dust and rubble to tumble down Mount Rinjani, the epicenter of the quake and pictured in the video.

The BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency ) Command Post has confirmed that earthquake shocks were felt for four to eight seconds in East Lombok, North Lombok, West Lombok and Central Lombok regencies. No fatalities were reported.
