Reducing CO2 emissions from road vehicles requires a balanced and appropriate approach. Aside from the mandatory targets for emission reduction, complementary measures such as better tyre design, engine-management etc. could play a role in achieving this aim.
However, the precise extent to which such measures could effectively cut CO2 emissions from passenger cars remains unclear. Moreover, the possibility of additional, notably cost cutting, benefits that could be associated with taking these steps is a subject of discussion.
The car of the future should be a car for the future, but what exactly will it look like?
