Pro-independence activists took aim at Spain’s King Felipe VI in Barcelona on Friday, August 17, as he paid a visit to the city to mark the first anniversary of the Barcelona and Cambrils attacks.

Holding banners with slogans such as “We Have No King” and “No King, No Fear,” the protesters marched near the Plaça de Catalunya, where the memorial event was due to take place.
