Indonesian children displaced by the deadly 7-magnitude earthquake on August 5 received trauma therapy and earthquake safety lessons at an evacuation centre on August 16.
The group were filmed enjoying the workshop at the North Lombok Regent’s Office in the Indonesian town of Tanjung.
In one video shared by Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the children were seen learning a song about how to act if an earthquake occurs. “When there is an earthquake, protect your head,” they could be heard singing in Indonesian. “When there is an earthquake, hide under a table.”
By August 15, the death toll for the August 5 earthquake in Lombok had reached 460, including two people on neighbouring Bali island, Indonesian newspaper Kompas reported. Meanwhile, at least 7,700 people were injured in the earthquake and 417,000 people were evacuated, the report said.
