A task force launched in late May to boost cultural and public exchanges between South Korea and Japan has submitted its final proposal.
Seoul's top diplomat Kang Kyung-wha received the proposal on Thursday which suggests ten policies and 25 specific projects, including the designation of 2019-2020 as the years of South Korea-Japan exchange, and having some ten-thousand teenagers from both sides interact every year.
The foreign ministry said it will discuss with Japan on what projects to actually carry out.
Kang thanked the task force for their efforts in seeking original and future oriented ways to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a deal signed by the late South Korean President Kim Dae-jung and the then-Japanese Prime Minister, which was to boost and improve Seoul-Tokyo ties.
