FBI Warns Banks About Hackers Cashing Out ATMs The FBI is telling banks to watch out for a trick that could rob ATMs. FBI, via official statement Attackers usually get their hands on a bank or payment card processor with malware. This allows the cyber-criminals to disable fraud controls and withdraw large
sums of money. In some cases, millions of dollars have
been stolen from ATMs. The FBI is encouraging banks to enforce more diligent security measures such as
two-factor authentication. Similar ATM hacks have happened to banks in the past. In 2016 and 2017, Hackers were able to withdraw roughly $2.4 million from The National Bank of Blacksburg.
