Chester Zoo Celebrates the Arrival of 21 Flamingo Chicks

Chester Zoo in Chester, England announced the the arrival of some fluffy additions to the zoo family.

The zoo has welcomed 21 Caribbean flamingo chicks, with the first hatching on June 25 increasing the total number of these flamingos to 120. The zoo said in a press release that the birds are being hand fed by zookeepers four times a day and will require this for another five weeks.

“For the time being the chicks are white or grey in colour, resembling little balls of cotton wool, but they will each develop their iconic pink feathers at around six months old,” the zoo stated. The chicks can be seen in images below. Credit: Chester Zoo via Storyful
