U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has congratulated South Korea on its 73rd Liberation Day, a national holiday that will be celebrated on Wednesday.
Pompeo released a statement on Tuesday, saying the U.S. recognizes South Korea's commitment to democracy, freedom, human rights, and the rule of law underpins the country's success.
He went on to say those values, along with the airtight bond between the two allies allows them to move forward to advance peace and security in the Indo-Pacific Region.
He said the U.S. remains committed to the ironclad alliance in coordinating the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea.
