The Mendocino Complex fire, the largest in California’s history, had scorched a total of 328,226 acres by August 11, authorities reported.
A total of 3,422 personnel were listed by the state agency CAL FIRE as batting the blaze on that date. The fire had destroyed some 139 residences, they said.
