Pedestrians outside Hammersmith underground station in London created a makeshift bridge out of chairs from a nearby coffee shop to get across flooded section of the road on August 9.
In footage shared on Twitter, people can be seen queuing to take turns walking over the chairs with others, safely on the dry side, waiting to lend a hand to help them down.
Eyewitness Hannah Steedman described the cooperative act as “ingenious” and “kind.”
