The number of immigrant families arrested while crossing the US-Mexico border remained steady in July, even with Trump administration's family separations. Business Insider reports newly released Customs and Border Protection data shows that in July, Border Patrol agents arrested 9,258 families at the border. 9,649 were arrested in April, the month that family separations began. The separations as part of the "zero tolerance policy" were put in place in order to deter immigrants from crossing the US border illegally.
