A large crowd of people gathered in Cordoba, Argentina, in support of legalized abortion as the Senate in Buenos Aires debated on August 8 a bill to allow the procedure up to the 14th week.
The bill passed Argentina’s Chamber of Deputies by a slim margin in June, according to reports, sparking a renewed effort from grassroots women’s rights activists to promote the cause, despite backlash in the overwhelmingly Catholic country, birthplace of Pope Francis.
