14 officials, including 6 senior officers, have been suspended for not taking action on a report that red flagged the atrocities taking place in the shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. The social welfare department suspended 14 officers including six assistant directors of the child protection unit for not taking action despite being informed over the situation at the shelter home where children were drugged and raped. The officers were from Muzaffarpur, Munger, Araria, Madhubani, Bhagalpur and Bhojpur districts. The central bureau of investigation is probing the case.
