California Interagency Incident Management Team 1 said, late on August 3, that the Ranch and River Fires had merged to become the 14th largest fire in California history at over 157,000 acres.

Cal Fire still had them listed as seperate fires.

Cal Fire said that the fires, which have been called the Mendocino Complex, had destroyed about 89 structures, half of which were residential homes, and about 9,200 remain under threat. Credit: Drew’s Drones via Storyful
