A crew member filmed from inside an air tanker as it dropped fire retardant on the Mendocino Complex fires on August 2.

In the video, a crew member, who works as a contractor Loadmaster for the USFS, Tanker 118, films out the window as the air tanker appears to be flying low and close to the ground.

Huge plumes of smoke fill the sky as flames burn in the hills.

Then a loud swoosh can be heard as the crew drops fire retardant.

The Mendocino Complex fires, which include the River and Ranch Fires, burned through 153,738 acres as of August 3, according to media reports.
