A month-long campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of ticks to both animals and humans begins today.
The Big Tick Project has been running for three years and is the biggest ever veterinary study of ticks and the diseases - like Lyme - that they carry in the UK.
Ticks are creatures that feed on blood - and their numbers are thought to be increasing. Kevin Ashford reports, followed by Fred's interview with Andrew McGuinness from Canterbury who contracted Lyme Disease.
