Police in Vancouver, Canada, were seeking a suspect who pushed another man into the path of an SUV near the PNE Amphitheatre on July 15, leading the man to be run over by the vehicle.
A police statement on July 30 said: “Just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, two men left a concert at the PNE Amphitheatre and were walking on the north sidewalk of East Hastings Street near Windermere Street, when they briefly stopped to check on the well-being of a young woman who appeared intoxicated. The woman said she was fine, so the two men continued walking. Seconds later, they were confronted by an agitated man who had been walking behind the woman.”
The man then ran towards the men and pushed one of them, a 37-year-old Surrey, BC, man, into traffic. The man was driven over by a white SUV and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said witnesses attempted to hold the suspect for police, but said both the suspect and the woman, who was believed to his friend, ran away before they arrived. Credit: Vancouver Police via Storyful
