Smoke From California's Ranch Fire Billows During Sunset

The Ranch Fire in Mendocino County, California, grew to over 35,000 acres with 5-percent containment by July 30 and prompted mandatory evacuations, according to Cal Fire officials.

The Ranch Fire and the River Fire — both burning in Mendocino County — destroyed six homes and prompted evacuations of more than 10,000 people collectively by Monday, July 30, according to CBS News.

The River Fire was just over 20,000 acres with 5-percent containment on July 30.
