A Malaysian tourist is reported to have died following a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit Indonesia's Lombok island early this morning.
Indonesia news agency Antara reported that the Malaysian, believed to be a 30-year-old woman, was among five victims found dead as of approximately 9.30am this morning in Sembalun, Lombok, while the search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
"Based on our current report, there were five people found dead. But we have yet to receive data on their identity," said Nusa Tenggara Barat natural disaster management chief Agung Pramuja.
Sembalun is a pitstop for tourists planning to hike up Mount Rinjani.
