Homes in Redding Destroyed by California's Deadly Carr Fire

California’s deadly Carr Fire had destroyed 65 buildings – including homes – and damaged 55 by July 27 as it grew to almost 45,000 acres, officials said.

This video shows the destruction left in the wake of the Carr Fire as Mike Daly drove through neighborhoods in Redding, California.

More than 20,000 residents of Redding fled their homes on July 26 and July 27 to escape the Carr Fire, which has killed two people and injured three firefighters.

Evacuations were ordered in Shasta County, California, on the evening of July 26. Cal Fire ordered additional evacuations around 2:30am on July 27 for all of Shasta Lake City, Summit City, Shasta Dam Boulevard and the Shasta Dam Visitor Center.
