Rescue pups at Dogs Trust Ireland in Dublin were given a special sweet treat recently, and judging from a video shared to the charity’s YouTube account they just couldn’t get enough of it.
The video, shared on July 25, shows the adorable 10-week-old puppies enjoying peanut butter for the first time. The pups are a German shepherd and Staffordshire bull terrier mix and appear to be big fans of the snack, scrambling over each other to get some some more.
While a small amount of peanut butter is fine for dogs to eat, Dogs Trust advises that too much might make them sick.
“Peanut butter is quite rich, so a little is fine, but too much may cause a tummy upset as it is quite salty and high fat. You would also need to ensure there is NO xylitol sweetener in the peanut butter as this is extremely toxic to dogs,” the post warns.
