Large waves struck tourist beaches in Bali on July 25, flooding the streets of resort towns and prompting the suspension of a ferry service between Sanur and the island of Nusa Penida.
The waves, which reports said reached up to 20 feet in height in some areas, hit Bali’s southern shores, including Kuta, Sanur, Legian, Gianyar and Nusa Dua.
Kuta Beach was temporarily closed on July 25 and swimming was prohibited, local media reports said.
