Pizza Delivery Man
Arrested by ICE
Ordered to Be Released U.S. District Judge Paul Crotty issued the order to release Pablo Villavicencio on Tuesday evening. The Ecuadorian is married
to a U.S. citizen and
a father of two. He has been living in the United States illegally for ten years and has been facing deportation since 2010. He has filed to change his legal status. ICE detained Villavicencio as he delivered a pizza to a military base in New York City. According to Judge Crotty, aside from his immigration status, Villavicencio has “otherwise been a model citizen." Crotty also issued a stay of deportation for Villavicencio. He has been held in an immigration detention facility for nearly two months. His detainment gained national attention and has spurred protest.
