A rapidly growing brush fire near Hemet, California, prompted evacuations for residents of southwest Idyllwild on July 25 after growing to an 800-acre blaze.

The fire, dubbed the Cranston Fire, sparked around noon on July 25.

The San Bernadino National Forest tweeted that the fire began off Highway 74 between Hemet and Mountain Center, California. The highway was closed in the area due to the growing fire.
