Volunteers Rescue Animals Injured In Greek Wildfires

Volunteers searched for injured animals along the burned landscape of Mati in Greece on July 24 as the death toll from wildfires rose to 79 people.

An animal shelter in the town of Pikermi said locals donated food, bandages and medicine to help with the injured animals. Vets4Life shared images of injured animals brought to the shelter after they were rescued by volunteers.

The country’s Civil Protection Agency said it received dozens of reports of missing people and was conducting search operations in Vuja, Mati and Rafina.
