Kill at Least 74 The disaster wreaked by the twin fires has been called a "national tragedy" and "biblical" in its scale. The fires began on Monday during a heatwave in Greece, igniting on two sides of Athens. Cars, farms and forests have been torched and at least 150 people have been hospitalized.
