A 10-year-old child was restrained by police during a confrontation after his father was arrested in Georgia, on July 20.

Police arrived at the scene in Sartain Dr. Upon, Athens, to arrest the boy’s father, a “domestic violence suspect.” One officer pinned the boy to the ground and called on the second officer to help him restrain and handcuff the child.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Athens-Clarke County Police Department described the boy as being " extremely emotionally distraught".

The body cam footage was shared by Athens-Clarke County Police Department two days after a woman who describes herself as the boy’s cousin, Ariel Collins, posted her own video of the incident to Facebook.

“Eric didn’t do anything but was tryna talk to his dad who was in the police car”, Collins wrote on her Facebook post.

An internal investigation was ordered by Athens-Clarke County Police Department Chief of Police, Scott Freeman “due to a juvenile involvement”, said the department. Credit: Athens-Clarke County Police Department via Storyful
