Scientists Reveal What May Have Inspired The Colorful, Wavy Clouds In Edvard Munch's 'The Scream'

Edvard Munch’s painting “The Scream” is among the most recognizable artworks today, and a team of scientists is suggesting that, at least in part, the work’s tumultuous sky was inspired by nacreous, or ‘mother-of-pearl,’ clouds.
