Unbearable heat continues to bake South Korea with record breaking temperatures over the weekend.
It's forecast to be another very hot day and our weather caster Lee Jee-hyun is at Yongma Waterfall Park in Joongnang-gu, eastern Seoul.
Jee-hyun, just looking at the waterfall seems to help us feel a bit cooler
Good morning, Semin.
Yongma Waterfall Park seems to be popular with people coming to see its magnificent views, which are even better when lit up at night. The tallest waterfall is 51m high. Listening to the sound of waterfall and just looking at it can definitely help you feel cooler. In fact, a long tailed goral, an almost extinct species of wild goat, was found here at Yongma Waterfall Park last week, so it's a nature-friendly area as well.
There's another scorching day ahead we'll see temperatures soaring to the mid-thirties this afternoon. As Se-min mentioned, Seoul saw a high of 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 39.3 degrees in the capital's Seocho-gu District... even at night you can feel that steamy heat wherever you are.
Today is Daeseo on the lunar calendar, meaning big heat... but we've already seen severe heat for nearly ten days and heatwave warnings are in place everywhere except for some parts of Jeju.
Extremely strong UV rays will continue to beat down and everyone will feel very uncomfortable, possibly waking up a couple of times during the night.
Most parts of Korea had tropical nights, Seoul waking up to a low of 27 degrees.
Highs in Seoul, Chuncheon and Daejeon will be at 35 degrees, a couple notches lower than yesterday, we'll see 37 degrees in Daegu and Gyeongju.
The heat shows no sign of easing up, be sure to drink plenty of water and take good care of yourself to avoid heat stroke.
