South Korea celebrates the 70th anniversary of its constitution on Tuesday.
Senior officials including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon attended a ceremony marking the occasion at the National Assembly earlier this morning.
The newly elected National Assembly speaker Moon Hee-sang... gave a speech on the day's significance and the need to amend the constitution... so that it reflects the demands of the people.
Moon said he'll do his best to bring the National Assembly together to come to an agreement on the amending the constitution before the year's end.
He cited the current power structure which places various responsibilities on the president... as the main reason for the on-going political stalemate.
