Brush Fire Spreads Rapidly in Kamloops, British Columbia

A brush fire sparked in Kamloops, British Columbia, at about noon on July 12 and grew to more than 930 acres within six hours.

The British Columbia Wildfire Service said in a tweet that 49 firefighters, one helicopter, air tankers were called to tackle the fire on the Tk’emlups Reserve.

Residents were ordered to evacuate their homes as a result of the fire, according to Global News, but no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
