Mirchi ka Salan as the name says it is a spicy Indian curry recipe made of green chilli and other spices. It is a Hyderabadi curry recipe which you can enjoy with Biryani. Do try this recipe and share your comments below.
Ingredients:-
For Mirchi
4-5 tbsp Oil
Big Green Chillies, chopped into 2 inches
For Onion Mixture:
4-5 tbsp Oil
Asafoetida
Mustard seeds
10-12 Fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp Fennel seeds
Curry leaves
2 Onions, finely chopped
½ tsp Turmeric powder
1- 1 ½ tbsp Red Chilli Powder
Big Green Chillies, chopped
2 tbsp Tamarind Pulp
For Masala
2 tbsp Sesame seeds
1 cup Wet Coconut, grated
2-3 tbsp Peanut powder
Green Paste
Water as required
For green paste:
1 inch Ginger
5-7 Garlic, cloves
5-6 Green Chillies
For Curry
Onion Mixture
Coconut mixture
1 ltr Water
Green Chillies
Salt
Method:-
For Mirchi
Heat oil in a vessel, add green chillies and saute them.
Our Mirchi for the curry is ready.
For Onion Mixture
In a vessel heat oil, add asafoetida, mustard seeds and let them crackle.
Add fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, curry leaves, onions, fry until the onion turns pink in color.
Add green paste and saute them.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, masala, saute them until the masala starts leaving water.
For Masala
In a pan roast sesame seeds, coconut, peanut powder till they turn slightly brown.
Our coconut mixture is nice and brown, cool it down, add water and grind it to a fine paste.
For green paste:
Grind ginger, garlic, green chillies together to make a smooth paste.
For Curry
In a vessel containing onion and coconut mixture, add tamarind pulp and the sauteed chillies, mix well.
Add water to make curry.
Add salt to the curry and give it a boil.
And our Mirch ka Saalan is ready.
