Bodies of 35 Srebrenica Victims Buried on 23rd Anniversary of Massacre

The recently-discovered bodies of 35 people murdered by Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica, Bosnia, in 1995 were buried at the Potočari memorial center on July 11 during a ceremony to mark the 23rd anniversary of the massacre.

The event was attended by thousands of Bosnian Muslims who paid their respect to the victims. Remains of some of the estimated 8,372 victims are found in the area and buried every year.

A list of the 35 buried was released by the memorial center at Potočari. The youngest person buried was Ibrić Vesid, who was 16 when he was killed. Three other victims between the ages of 16 and 17 were also buried.

The oldest victim buried on July 11 was named as Halilović Šahin, who was 71, the center said. A married couple, Nijazija and Ramzija Dudic, were laid to rest.
