Courtney Beeks witnessed a rare and special occurrence on July 8 as a nest of Loggerhead sea turtles hatched during daylight at Edisto Beach in South Carolina.
Loggerhead sea turtles usually hatch at night and use the moonlight to guide them to the water, according to reports. Typically, light can disturb the newborn turtles, so capturing video can be difficult, but this daytime occurrence ensured Beeks and her friends were able to see something spectacular!
