Trump Narrows Search for New Supreme Court Justice Donald Trump's search for a new Supreme Court justice is reportedly down to four candidates. The president is expected to announce his official nominee in a prime-time announcement Monday night. The vacancy, left behind by Anthony Kennedy, is the second Trump has had to fill since taking office. The finalists include: appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh of Maryland, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan and Amy Coney Barrett of Indiana. Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia judge Thomas Hardiman, the runner-up in last year’s search, rounds out the final four. The White House says Trump isn’t likely to interview any more new candidates.
