Scores of people have died and at least 50 others were reported missing on Sunday, July 8, after floods hit western and central Japan.
At least 37 people died in Hiroshima prefecture after heavy downpours began on Thursday, July 5, the Japan Times reported. Other casualties were reported in Ehime, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Kyoto, Gifu, Shiga, Hyogo, Kochi and Fukuoka, after homes were submerged by water.
