In attempting to honor his family's legacy, Prince Jackson has proceeded to disrespect his father, and many of his supporters. Joseph Walter Jackson was in my estimation, a narcissistic abuser, and far too many people (Prince included) defend the abuse of his children, based on some notion that it 'kept the kids out of jail, and produced a famous family.'
Far too many people look at parenting as a form of ownership over another person; a means to produce a smaller version of oneself, or to live out some dream you couldn't produce on your own... as opposed to utilizing it as a responsibility to another being, to watch them grow into a compassionate, mentally and emotionally stable being. To take from a certain MJ song, "Love is not possession."
i think what ultimately killed Michael Jackson was that he was a product; a means to someone else's end. This is how his father treated him as well, and he never truly healed from that.
