The Dollar Ridge fire in southeast Utah grew to 30,000 acres on the evening of July 2, destroying structures and forcing evacuations in the area.
This video, taken from Highway 40 in Fruitland that afternoon, shows thick clouds of smoke emerging from the fire.
According to local media, between 200 and 300 families were under an evacuation order as the fire encroached closer to private property. High temperatures and low humidity have been fueling the flames.
The fire started on Sunday afternoon and is suspected to be human-caused, though the exact origin has not been reported.
