Hundreds of protesters marched through Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, July 1, to demand justice for Antwon Rose, who was fatally shot by police as he fled from a traffic stop on June 19.
Michael Rosfeld, the officer who shot Rose, was charged with criminal homicide last week. He was sworn in as an East Pittsburgh officer two hours before the shooting.
The protesters Sunday said they wanted East Pittsburgh police to fire Rosfeld. He has been on paid leave since the shooting. Additionally, protesters said they want his bond revoked and held on first-degree murder charges, and that they want a citizens police review board to be established to oversee the county’s suburban police departments, including East Pittsburgh.
