A South Korean soccer fan was paraded around the Historic Center of Mexico City after Mexico, who lost 3-0 to Sweden earlier in the day, secured a place in the next round of the tournament thanks to South Korea’s 2-0 victory over Germany on June 27.
Thousands of Mexico fans filled the Zócalo, Mexico City’s main square, to watch Mexico’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of group rivals Sweden, local media report.
Mexico City resident Daniel Zam shared a clip of a South Korea fan being paraded around the plaza by jubilant Mexico fans and wrote: “Thank you Korea.”
