According to Reuters, 17 states and the District of Columbia sued the Trump administration over a controversial policy that forcibly separates immigrant families.
The states called for the administration to end the policy because it is cruel and unlawful.
The complaint was filed at a US district court in Seattle.
According to the filing, the states also called a recently executive order illusory, as it called to suspend the policy, which is still ongoing.
