Melbourne Zoo welcomed a baby spider monkey to their family on Saturday, June 16, the first of the endangered species to be born at the zoo in seven years.
The zoo said mum, Isobella, was exhausted by the process but her “superb” maternal instincts kicked in. The father, Oren, remained by his new family’s side for days after the birth.
The tiny monkey was yet to be named, with keepers at the zoo explaining it was clinging too closely to its mother for them to identify its gender. Credit: Victoria Zoos via Storyful
