To combat voyeurism, some 50 thousand public toilets will be investigated here in the nation.
More than 45 million U.S. dollar will be spent on eradicating hidden cameras in restrooms.
The measure was announced by the Korean National Police Agency, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, as well as the Ministry of Interior and Safety.
A radio detecting device will be used to carry out the task at least once a week.
The government is also encouraging self-inspection of toilets in private buildings, and will help check out the facilities in certain types of private building if requested.
A "Toilet Safe for Women" sticker will be put on cleared restrooms.
