How likely is it that we’ll all die because of an alien invasion? Currently, there’s no war plan for if aliens start antagonizing earthlings. And, many experts think that if they visit our planet with malevolent intentions — it’s probably game over for us. Considering that they’d be technologically advanced enough to travel to other solar systems, then nothing we have on earth will likely be able to match what they’re carrying around weapons-wise.
People like SETI Senior Software Engineers, Jon Richards are currently searching for radio signals connected to other life forms. They believe that they will be able to pick up signals from 200 lightyears away. Some SETI officials believe that they’ll be able to pick up radio waves sometime in the next 20 years. They’re also skeptical that an alien visit would be something that the government can cover up — if aliens were visiting us, we’d know about.
While we can’t say for certain what's going on in The Pentagon, an extraterrestrial war plan is likely not what they’re strategizing for. So, in short, people are more than certain there are other life forms out there, and are fairly sure we’ll contact them one day. Once we do — we just have to hope that they don’t want to fight, because we’d likely be done for.
