FRISCO, Texas — Dirk Nowitzki on the diamond! That's right, the NBA champion and 113-time NBA All-Star will took to the ballpark for what's now dubbed Dirk Nowitzki's 2018 Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game at the Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.
Famous faces included Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks MVP and 2011 NBA champion), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys quarterback), Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas Cowboys running back), Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner and star of Shark Tank), Von Miller (Denver Broncos linebacker), Herschel Walker (Heisman Trophy winner and former Dallas Cowboys running back), Harrison Barnes (Dallas Mavericks forward) and Dennis Smith, Jr. (Dallas Mavericks Guard) just to name a few.
Survivors of the recent Santa Fe High School shooting. Rome Shubert, Trenton Beazley and Noah Silva, threw out the first pitch. Rome and Trenton play on the Santa Fe High School baseball team, and Noah played on the basketball team. All three were shot that tragic day but showed heroism despite their injuries. Amazingly, Rome, Trenton and the Santa Fe HS baseball team were able to make their baseball game just a day after the shooting.
